Multilateral youth-exchange "Sol e Arte" hosted by GAIAC in Guimarães (PT)

"Abouth the theme, Criss-Cross, we will try to combine different ways of feeling the culture, that's why we asked to bring a group/national presentation/national presentation criss-crossing traditional/ modern/ rural/ urban from your local experience, also that each participant find an object, a song, a story to use in the workshop and share with the whole group" (Graça Castro- president of GAIAC).

About the workshops:

From Mariana - “In "Movement" workshop we will experiment combining different ways of moving, crossing the way we move everyday with specific techniques, in order to create sketches with multiple moods, musics and meanings. Departing from some exercises, including participants' inputs and given movements, we will probably arrive to constructed small scenes, cris-crossing how we and other people move (don't forget comfortable clothes and shoes ;-)”

From Gui - “In our workshop, I and Ricardo will try to criss-cross feelings, energy and cosmic music mixing traditional and modern/urban rhythms.
We will use traditional, modern and recycled instruments (mostly percussion ones), we appeal to people to bring their mp3 players with some traditional music from their country as well, and invite to bring if possible any kind of instruments (traditional or non traditional)."

From Pako - “Hello there , my workshop is based on urban dances styles where I combine  of dance like hip-hop dancehall street jaz to help participants achieve their maximum potential, this is a workshop for all levels and you don't need to be advancer to be part. I don't have number of participants, it all depends on the space we will have for the workshops.
Thank you see you soon.”

From Andrea: "We want in this workshop to work from the smallest to the largest mask possible. So we define this workshop as an atelier from micro to macro by working with body expression that changes with the particularity of each mask, going from the smallest, which is the clown nose, the neutral mask and birds masks, to create a simple way of our own mask, that will identify with the character explored. We will create scenes with surprising discoveries during the creative process."

This workshop will be given by Andrea Gabilondo choreographer and professor of dance theater and physical theatre.

From Didier"My workshop is an invitation to breathe and paint our week in Portugal with various world rhythms who “will give we a sign” or take sense during the week of meetings and exchanges in Guimarães.
We will use our songs, our cries, our body, we have the instruments (I dont know yet the instruments we have), such as brushes-paintbrushes.
So come with your various instruments, vocals, guitar, flute, bells, claves, etc. and come with a rhythm, movement or dance to teach me, to teach us, to share. The numbers of participants? It all depends on the number of instruments, the space
Thank you and see you soon
